REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)

The REACH Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning safe use of chemicals by their registration, evaluation and in some cases authorisation and restriction in use and trade.
The REACH Regulation entered into force on 1 June 2007 replacing a number of community legislative acts entered into Polish law with the Act on chemical substances and preparations.

Objectives of REACH:

  • protection of human health
  • protection of environment
  • promotion of alternative methods for assessment of hazards of substances
  • enhancement of competitiveness and innovation of chemical industry

One of the main REACH requirements is the obligation to register chemicals manufactured or imported in volumes > 1 ton per year on their own, as a component of mixtures and articles.

The provisions of the REACH Regulation cover nearly all chemicals, however, some of them (e.g. chemicals manufactured/imported in/outside EU in volumes < 1 tonne, plant protection products, medicinal products, food or feed additives and others) are excluded from the scope of some or almost all requirements of the Regulation.

Donauchem Polska is obliged to meet all requirements resulting from the REACH Regulation as a distributor, importer and downstream user of chemical substances and mixtures.

We ensure that all our actions are compliant with current valid European Community law concerning chemical substances and mixtures.
